DESCRIPTIVE PARAGRAPHS
They describe how someone or something looks or feels. While writing descriptive paragraphs you must use a lot of adjectives.
Words that describe objects:
Colours: black, white, orange, yellow, blue, red, purple, pink, green, etc.
Texture: rough/smooth; sharp/dull; silky
Shape: oval, rectangular, round, square
Size: average, big, huge, small
Smell: fresh, fruity, pungent, smokey, strong, weak
Taste: bitter, bland, fruity, nutty, salty, sour, spicy, sweet
PLACE
Shape and size: large/small, wide/narrow, round/square/rectangular/oval
Atmosphere: cozy, comfortable, warm/cool, cold/hot, romantic
How you feel: amazed, surprised, happy, nostalgic,
Appearance: beautiful, colorful, unforgettable, unattractive
A description of a place may answer some of the following questions:
Where is the place? How big is it? How warm or cold is the place? How does the place make you feel? (Why) What things can you see in this place? What colors do you see?
